Full time: Leicester 0-3 Chelsea

That was just brilliant from Chelsea. They ignored all the pressure that other people felt they were under and calmly took Leicester apart with some clinical attacking football. They have restored their seven-point lead and made their player of the season so far, Diego Costa, look dispensable. Thanks for your company; night.

wTop new Remember Alan Rickman One Year Later 2017 #Top #new #Remember #Alan #Rickman #One #Year #Later #2017

A year ago today, beloved and renowned actor Alan Rickman sadly passed away at age 69.

After the initial shock, sadness and despair, we’ve learned to honour Alan by remembering the legacy he leaves behind with his work, and the brilliance and humble, good-humoured nature he brought with his presence. The talent he portrayed in his well known performances in Love Actually, Truly Madly Deeply, Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (and many, many more!) will be cherished by people across the globe long after his death. He baffled us all with his unique ability to bring Severus Snape to life, and J.K. Rowling trusted him enough to tell him – and only him – the ins and outs of Snape’s life and death! He was a truly wonderful man, a brilliant actor, and is still sorely missed.

A video of Snape’s most important moments (in chronological order) has been circulating the internet in honour of the anniversary of the actor’s death, which is bound to make you more than a little teary. The Telegraph and Variety also shared iconic moments from Rickman’s career, which reminds us just how many iconic roles he portrayed so excellently throughout his life.

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — A Falcon 9 rocket roared into the sky on Saturday carrying 10 communications satellites — a return by SpaceX and its billionaire leader, Elon Musk, to the business of launching satellites to orbit.

But financial details disclosed this past week about the company overshadowed the successful liftoff, raising questions about the viability of Mr. Musk’s long-range plans for SpaceX and his vision of sending people to Mars.

SpaceX, based in Hawthorne, Calif., has been set back since September, when a different Falcon 9 caught fire and exploded on a launchpad in Florida, destroying the rocket and its payload, a $200 million Israeli satellite that Facebook had planned to lease to expand global internet services. The company’s rockets had been grounded since then. An internal investigation concluded that a failure of a helium vessel in the second stage liquid oxygen tank had led to the conflagration.

The Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates commercial space launches, accepted SpaceX’s report on the explosion’s causes on Jan. 6 and issued a launch license, clearing the way for Saturday’s liftoff here, on the other side of the country. To prevent a recurrence, SpaceX adjusted its fueling procedures to avoid overcooling of the helium. cristianoronaldo cristiano ronaldo FIFA pes World Cup soccer fans #Football #sport #Footballgame #Footballseason #Footballplayer #Footballer #Soccer #Soccergame #Soccerball #Soccerlife #Soccerplayer #Soccerislife #Soccerteam #Training #Sports #Exercise #Instasoccer #Footballtime #Footballmatch #Footballers #Footballfan #sports #sport #active #fit #fitness #football #soccer #basketball #exercise #ball #gametime #workout #game #games #training

Top news Turnovers, foul trouble doom Duke men's basketball at Louisville in third 2017 #Top #news #Turnovers, #foul #trouble d#oom #Duke #men's #basketball at #Louisville in #third #2017

No. 7 Duke had built a 19-12 lead at No. 14 Louisville, taking a raucous KFC Yum! Center crowd out of the game with more disciplined interior defense and patient offense predicated on driving the ball to the rim.

By Juan Bermudez / The Chronicle

Louisville center Anas Mahmoud had his way in the post with a career-high 17 points and 11 rebounds with Blue Devil forward Amile Jefferson sidelined.

But the Cardinals gave the Blue Devils a dose of their own medicine by attacking the rim at will to close the period, forcing Duke to relive its nightmare from just four days ago at No. 9 Florida State.

Louisville used a 20-5 spurt to break out of a miserable shooting slump and get its pressure defense going in a 78-69 win against the Blue Devils. Although Duke cut the lead to four at halftime and even re-took the lead early in the second half, a season-high 18 Blue Devil turnovers and more crippling foul trouble proved too much for Duke to overcome.

After the Blue Devils took a 37-36 lead with 17:50 left in the game, Louisville ripped off seven quick points fueled by back-to-back turnovers from Luke Kennard and Grayson Allen to take the lead for good. Although Kennard and Allen were effective scoring, combining for 40 points, the tandem struggled to create open looks for its teammates against Louisville’s pressure.

Duke had just eight assists as a team and is now worse than .500 in ACC play through five or more games for the first time since 2006-07. Allen had another strong game at Louisville after pouring in 29 a year ago, finishing with 23 points and nine rebounds—including six points in a row midway through the second half—in a losing effort.

“We didn’t have the poise necessary to beat a good team in their court,” Duke interim head coach Jeff Capel said. “I thought we were able to run stuff when we had poise. The thing they do, they keep coming after you and at times when you don’t have poise, they speed you up and I thought that’s what happened to us today. At times, their defense sped us up and we have to do a better job of that.”  cristianoronaldo cristiano ronaldo FIFA pes World Cup soccer fans #Football #sport #Footballgame #Footballseason #Footballplayer #Footballer #Soccer #Soccergame #Soccerball #Soccerlife #Soccerplayer #Soccerislife #Soccerteam #Training #Sports #Exercise #Instasoccer #Footballtime #Footballmatch #Footballers #Footballfan #sports #sport #active #fit #fitness #football #soccer #basketball #exercise #ball #gametime #workout #game #games #training

Top news Will Patriots blitz Brock Osweiler this time around? 2017

#Top #news# Will #Patriots #blitz #Brock #Osweiler this #time #around? #2017

1. In a 27-0 win over the Texans in Week 3, the Patriots blitzed quarterback Brock Osweiler on just one of his 44 dropbacks (2.3 percent), the second-lowest blitz rate against any quarterback in a game in the past three seasons. The strategy allowed the Patriots to blanket the Texans' wide receivers and drop front-seven players into the secondary, as Osweiler was just 8-of-19 (42.1 percent) with an interception targeting his wideouts, his second-worst completion percentage on such throws this season (40.0 percent at Jaguars in Week 10).

2. The Patriots are looking to advance to their sixth straight conference championship game, which would break a tie with the Raiders from 1973 to 1977 for the longest streak since 1970.

3. Via the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the 15th time in NFL history that one team shut out another team during the regular season and then met that same team in the postseason. The team that was blanked during the regular-season meeting went on to win the postseason game in eight of the 14 previous such cases.

I don't want to oversell this new version of A Series of Unfortunate Events, but I don't know how not to. Everything that the movie version got wrong, this TV adaptation gets right. And not just right, but brilliantly.

The difference is as stark, and as significant, as the difference between the movie and TV versions of Buffy the Vampire Slayer — where the writer of that story, Joss Whedon, took the reins and made a television version much truer to his original vision.

THE SALT

Ring In 'Lemony Snicket' On Netflix With A Series Of Unfortunate Recipes

Daniel Handler, who wrote the original series of Lemony Snicket books, has done the same thing here. And he's enlisted, as his key co-conspirators, two pitch-perfect collaborators: Barry Sonnenfeld, of Pushing Daisies and The Addams Family fame, as the director of many of the episodes, and an executive producer. And as another producer, and the show's central star, Neil Patrick Harris.

This new 8-episode Netflix version, which is written by Handler, is inspiringly faithful to the original books, with two episodes devoted to each of the first handful of stories.

The look, which comes from Sonnenfeld, is full-out fairy-tale fright mode — occasionally bright colors against oppressively grey backgrounds, aptly reflecting the mood of the stories.

And these are sad, sad stories indeed. The narrative begins with three children being told their parents have died in a fire that burned down the family home — and goes downhill from there.

These stories are cracklingly intelligent, and delightfully droll, and occasionally, surprisingly, laugh-out-loud funny. They're also so dark, they come with a warning attached — not just at the start, but throughout.

In the books, these warnings are delivered by the alleged author, Lemony Snicket. He delivers the same deadpan warnings in the TV version, too — but for TV, Lemony Snicket appears throughout as a pessimistic, gloom-and-doom on-screen narrator, sort of a modern-day cross between Rod Serling and Eeyore. And he's played by Patrick Warburton, whose delivery is as no-nonsense, and as inexplicably charming, as his disclaimers.
